Our History

Patient Engagement and Value for Patients, Physicians, and Stakeholders

QM2® was incorporated on the idea that if clinicians engaged patients about their symptoms, pain, function, and experience, they would better meet patient needs while documenting value to healthcare stakeholders.

In the short term, James Benson, our founder, believed that increased patient engagement would help clinicians make better decisions and address patient needs sooner.

In the long term, he wanted to give providers data to measure their value to justify fee schedules, evaluate medical equipment and drugs based on the value they deliver to patients.

To make this happen QM2® went about developing a system to engage patients over time. Key to the design was automatically connecting to patients where they were. It needed to be secure and reduce staff effort. It needed to be low-cost and simple to use. It needed to connect to existing records systems and it needed to be sustainable.

These needs drove the development of a Symptom Engagement system called “SEngage®.” The name stuck.  And though the use case has grown to include Patient Experience, Reputation Management, Remote Therapeutic Monitoring, and more, SEngage® has proven itself as a technology, engaging more than 2 million patients.

Today, the company looks to expand, and is excited to lead the place of service revolution in healthcare.
